Melanie Torres Crespo

Hello! My name is Melanie Torres Crespo, and I am a rising sophomore part of Branford College. I am originally from Puerto Rico, and plan on majoring in mechanical engineering.
My summer research focuses on studying how materials behave under different conditions, with a particular emphasis on how liquid crystal elastomers can function as artificial muscle systems and enable controlled and reversible movements. Outside of research, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and taking photos of nature and architecture.
